Portia Aponsah contacted This Is Lebanon in October 2020. Her sister, Pulina, had been in Lebanon for 16 months but had not been paid for 8 months and her employers were preventing the family from having contact with her. Portia and her family were very worried. 

We texted Pulina’s employers several times but they did not respond. The video from the family complaining about their sister’s situation was then posted on Facebook. After that, the employers contacted This Is Lebanon! They paid Pulina her overdue salary in return for the removal of the post. 

Pulina arrived back in Ghana in July 2021. She was sick but paid in full. Her family were very happy to have her home and thankful to This Is Lebanon for securing her full salary.
