THE STORY
Charity, a 26 year old Ghanaian, arrived in Lebanon in March, 2019.
In March 2020, Charity reached out to This is Lebanon and pleaded for help as it had been 6 months since she was last paid.
“Please I need help. It has been 6 months now since I have been paid. When I asked my money my madam boldly tell me that cuz the situation she can't send the money. I don't know what to do.”
It took some time for Charity to trust us with the contact information for her employers. Eventually, we began negotiations with her employers in September, 2020. She flew back to Ghana in October with her full salary.
