Akinsun Bisola Iyanu Obtains her Salary
Bisola was physically abused by her employer and had her salary stolen by her agent. TIL recovered it for her.

THE STORY
Bisola arrived in Lebanon on 4 February 2020 and contacted This Is Lebanon in May 2020 informing us that she had not received any payment since arrival and was being physically abused by her madam.
“She pushed me in my room. I hit my head on the wardrobe and there was blood coming out.
Her son gave me a plaster on that day and asked me to say sorry to my madam.”
The madam did not know any English and misunderstandings often arose. Bisola said her employer frequently shouted at her. At the end of July, Bisola changed employers but her salary was given to the agent, who stole it. TIL contacted the agent who then paid Bisola her salary. She was “so, so, so, so happy!”

وصلت بيسولا إلى لبنان في 4 شباط 2020 واتصلت بجمعية "هذا لبنان" في أيار 2020 لتبلغنا بأنها لم تقبض أية رواتب منذ وصولها كما أنها تعرضت للتعنيف الجسدي على يد صاحبة العمل. ووصفت في شهادتها:
"دفعتني إلى غرفتي. ضربت رأسي بخزانة الملابس وكان الدم يتدفق."
أعطاني ابنها لصاقة في ذلك اليوم وطلب مني الاعتذار من سيدتي."
لم تكن السيدة تعرف الإنكليزية أبداً وغالباً ما كان يحدث سوء تفاهم. قالت بيسولا أن صاحبة العمل كانت تصرخ في وجهها مراراً. وفي نهاية تموز، غيرت بيسولا أصحاب العمل لكن راتبها أعطي للوكيل الذي سرقه. اتصلت جمعية "هذا لبنان" بالوكيل الذي قام بعد ذلك بدفع الراتب لبيسولا. وكانت "سعيدة للغاية".
